An opportunity has arisen for BBFNSW-ACT to work in conjunction with Tourism NSW and Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs). This will enable Internationally ready members to reach a possibly untapped new target market - Overseas Independent self-drive travelers. Many of the bookings are mid-week and can help fill otherwise empty rooms.
New Zealand B&Bs have benefited from this market for some time, and BBFNSW-ACT is delighted to participate in this way of improving our market share of this business.
Bed & Breakfast, Farmstay and other hosted accommodation which are Internationally Ready, can be included in this exciting new promotion.
There are some requirements to be met, before you can consider your individual business to be International or ‘Export’ ready. These requirements are:
*Willing to pay up to 30% commission - average commission is 25% but some ITOs will ask for 30%
*Able to provide nett inbound rates (rack rate) valid 1 April 2010 to 31 Mar 2011
*Able to provide same day turnaround when confirming bookings
*Willing to accept ITO vouchers from customers and then invoice the applicable ITO for payment

A note about the commission and your nett rates: Rates: The rates you provide must be the standard rack rate that you advertise on your website and elsewhere. Commissions: The commission will come out of the rate you quote.
The commission may seem quite high, but there are often several links in the chain from guest enquiry to a secure booking. The commission can also cover promotion, brochures etc that may be produced by the ITOs both in Australia and overseas.
